TopLine Example Course
Parent & Teacher Information Pack
Course Duration: 6 Weeks
Themes: Confidence – Self-Awareness – Mindfulness – Autonomy – Leadership
Audience: Primary/Secondary School Students - adaptable to all ages
Location: TopLine Equine, Mere Farm, Mollington
Course Overview
This program is not just about learning to ride—it’s about helping students grow as people. Through safe, supervised interaction with horses, students develop personal skills that support their emotional wellbeing, school performance, and social relationships.

Why Horses?

Horses are intuitive, non-judgmental animals who respond to human body language, energy, and emotions. This makes them powerful partners for teaching self-awareness, empathy, and responsibility.

At-Home Connections
Each week, students are given a Reflection Prompt and can choose to share what they’ve learned at home or in class. We encourage families and teachers to ask questions like:
-
“What did your horse teach you this week?”
-
“How did you feel when you tried something new?”
-
“What helped you stay calm or focused today?”
Supporting Growth at School
You may notice improvements in:

-
Emotional regulation and patience.
-
Leadership and group work participation.
-
Confidence in public speaking or trying new tasks.
-
Reduced anxiety or better attention span.

Suggested Follow-Up Activities

To extend learning beyond the arena:

-
Journaling: Encourage students to write or draw about their horse experiences.
-
Mindfulness Practice: Use deep breathing or grounding techniques learned in Week 3.
-
Responsibility Tasks: Give students small responsibilities at home or school.
-
Leadership Roles: Let students guide a younger peer or take on a classroom role.
Final Week Showcase
You are warmly invited to attend the Week 6 Showcase, where students will demonstrate what they’ve learned through a short riding display or presentation. Certificates and awards will be given to celebrate individual growth.
