Group Lessons
Beginner
Suitable for Lead Rein Riders and those learning to ride independently in walk and trot.
For riders who are learning the basics of balance, position, and control while being led. These sessions focus on building confidence, developing a secure seat, and introducing foundational skills such as steering and stopping. We use games, simple pole patterns, and lots of encouragement to make learning fun and engaging. For riders working off the lead rein, beginning to ride independently at walk and trot. Lessons include transitions, basic school figures, and the introduction of light lateral work such as leg-yield and turn on the forehand. Riders develop greater balance and awareness, often working over poles.
Intermediate
Learning to canter
Intermediate group riders are solid in their walk and trot work and are ready to begin canter. They’ll start with canter transitions in a controlled environment and build strength and coordination. We continue to refine position and introduce more technical exercises with poles and small jumps, developing rhythm, straightness, and confidence.
Advanced
Confident Canter & Developing Technique
Our most advanced recreational group is held on Saturdays. Riders are confident in all three paces and can maintain rhythm and balance in canter. Lessons include more advanced lateral work (such as shoulder-in, leg yield on straight lines, and walk-canter transitions), gymnastic pole and jump exercises, and more technical riding challenges. The focus is on refinement, self-carriage, and preparation for more advanced riding goals. Sunday Advanced group is geared towards competition training.
Poles and Jumps at Every Level
We use poles and small jumps across all groups, always at an appropriate level. Whether it’s stepping over ground poles on lead rein or building combinations and grids for our advanced riders, these exercises help build balance, coordination, and confidence.
